Young Dancer Workshop

July 31- August 4, 2017

The Young Dancer Workshop follows our Summer Intensive the week of July 31-August 4, 2017.  Dancers ages 11-15 can partake in this full week of intensive training, focusing on improving their technical skills and their artistic development while exploring choreography from classical repertoire.

A National Audition Tour for students will be conducted from January through March. Acceptance to the Summer Intensive is competitive, and only the most proficient students are invited. Select students from the Young Dancer Workshop may be chosen and invited to attend The School of Pennsylvania Ballet full year program.

Tuition is $650 for the week.

Auditions are open to male and female students, ages 11-15, for the levels of ballet training that are appropriate for their skills and backgrounds.  Select students from the Young Dancer Workshop may be chosen and invited to attend The School of Pennsylvania Ballet full year program.

For more information about our Summer Intensive and Young Dancer Workshop Audition Tour, please contact Joanne Smith at jsmith@paballet.org or 215.587.6942.

Students who cannot attend the National Audition Tour may submit a video audition or schedule an audition in person by contacting Joanne Smith at jsmith@paballet.org or 215.587.6942

Applicants will receive notice of the results within two weeks of their auditions.  When accepted to The School of Pennsylvania Ballet Summer Intensive, students must register within four weeks from the date of admission and space is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the class reaches full capacity, students will be placed on a waiting list. Please be sure to register and send your deposit on time to ensure your place in the program.

Students who are currently enrolled in our school are not required to audition. While we do not require current students to enroll in the Summer Course, we strongly encourage them to do so. Current students are given priority enrollment over students who are invited after the National Audition Tour.  Registration forms will be emailed to all current families in mid-January and will be due no later than February 18, 2017.  Late registrations will be held on a waitlist until after the National Audition Tour is complete and then students will be accepted if space is available.
