Community Outreach Support
Pennsylvania Ballet's outreach and education program,
Accent on Dance, was formalized in 1996 with the dual mission of providing meaningful educational experiences that contribute to the cultural development of Philadelphia area children, especially the traditionally underserved, and nurturing ballet audiences of the future.
Accent on Dance touches the lives of 10,000-15,000 elementary, middle and secondary school children each year with programs that include interactive in-school lectures and demonstrations by our second company,
Pennsylvania Ballet II, attendance at fully staged Dress Rehearsals Matinees in the theater, and much more. Teachers have called the program "a wonderful gift" and "an introduction to a world of beauty and grace that many of the children never even knew existed." We encourage you to learn more about our
Outreach and Education Programs.
With any level of support, your company may:
- Underwrite tickets for disadvantaged children and young adults
- Designate a school or schools to receive community outreach services
- Sponsor student workbooks and educational materials, including Pennsylvania Ballet II demonstration videos
- Support the overall Accent on Dance community outreach program.
Public recognition for your support of Accent on Dance begins at $1,000 and includes listings in all Accent on Dance and Pennsylvania Ballet II printed materials including brochures and workbooks, as well as Playbill programs. Optional benefits of the Corporate Council are also extended to companies supporting Accent on Dance, or may be declined to ensure the maximum contribution and tax-deductibility of your gift. You may also consider becoming an Accent on Dance sponsor.
