The Market is FREE and open to the public! 

Pennsylvania Ballet's second annual Nutcracker Market opens on Wednesday, December 10 with a ticketed preview party, and closes Sunday, December 14 at The Kimmel Center. Attendees will enjoy indoor shopping on three levels of The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in downtown Philadelphia. This festive holiday market- a fundraiser for Pennsylvania Ballet and The School of Pennsylvania Ballet- will feature over 75 select exhibitors offering a variety of gifts and hand-crafted works such as ornaments, jewelry, photography, and dance-inspired pieces. The Market will include daily free activities: "Behind the Scenes of the Nutcracker" display, origami lessons, raffles, visits from the characters of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, arts & crafts, and a community stage featuring local dance performances and The Philly POPS. Other family activities will include: Land of Sweets candy shop, specialty food and drink offerings, and more. Exhibitor booths will line the street level (Commonwealth Plaza) and balcony levels (Tiers One and Two). Carefully chosen hand-made crafts and retail items like our wonderful PA Ballet Shop, are sure to meet all shopping needs. Food & beverage provided by notable Jose Garces Group. The Nutcracker Market is well on its way to becoming an annual Philadelphia holiday tradition.

Move-in: 
Wednesday, Dec. 10th (8am-5pm) from Spruce Street entrance (see link to Kimmel Street map).

You are required to be at your booth during ALL Show Hours:

Arrival and Load-In

  • Please check-in with the exhibit floor manager, Kathleen, upon arrival.
  • Have your donation item for the raffle ready for pick-up by volunteer.
  • You will receive a receipt sheet for 10% sales collection which will be collected daily each day. 
  • Please arrive at your designated time, unload your car, and move along as quickly as possible.
  • There will be a traffic attendant present outside of the Kimmel Center to keep things moving. No one is permitted to park in the Spruce street load-in lane. 
  • Hand-carry your items into the building; No dollies or carts available.
  • Have a colleague/helper in your booth when you park your car doing load-in and load-out.
  • Please do not block the aisle during your booth load-in

Building Info

  • The show office/exhibitor lounge is located on the second level.
  • There are (4) passenger elevators available: (2) on north-side (2) on south-side that go to the balconies.
  • The building will not receive or hold any deliveries; NO STORAGE AREA

Your Booth

  • Unless you made other provisions, you are responsible for all of your booth needs: chairs, tables, clothes, easels (see following bullet point).
  • You may purchase tables and/or chairs from Roberts Events/GES at the cost below. Respond to this e-mail with an order ASAP if you are ordering.

◦                   8' table (30" height) - topped & skirted - white - $45/ea.

◦                   8' table (42" height) - topped & skirted - white - $65/ea.

◦                   black padded side chairs - $15/ea.

◦                   Payment made ON SITE TO: GES Exposition Services

  • We will provide an ID booth sign, low pipe & drape, and power.
  • Bring your own power cord, safety pins, bungee cords, zip ties, scissors, twine, tape, pens forms and packing materials.

◦                   Empty boxes, packaging materials, etc. must be out of view. 

  • We ask that you securely cover your booth daily at show close. There are security cameras and roving guards, but please take all valuables with you. 
  • Your booth must be manned during all show hours.

Shoppers/Purchases

  • Market attendees include: Pennsylvania Ballet followers, area residents, the general public, and attendees from the Academy of Music, Merriam Theater, and Verizon and Perelman Halls at the Kimmel Center. A schedule of those venue performances is listed.
  • We suggest when transacting retail sales/cash exchange, you use a waist belt/fanny-pack-type device.
  • Suggest your theater customers to check purchases at the Coat Check if they do not want to hold.
  • FYI: The PA Ballet shop is offering a $5-off coupon for their store; last year some exhibitors honored the coupon / optional. 

Show Close

  • The show closes at 5:01pm on Sunday, December 14th.
  • There is not a specified move-out schedule.

SPECIAL EVENTS: (schedule below)

Preview Party: Wednesday, December 10th, 6:00pm-8:00pm

  • Paying guests will arrive, check-in, and be directed to shop.
  • Ribbon cutting on Broad Street side (6:00pm)
  • At 7:30pm, attendees will start arriving for the 8pm Chamber Music (Perelman) and Philly POPS (in Verizon Hall). 

◦                   All attendees will be encouraged to shop. If you make a sale and want to meet the customer after party hours, not a problem.

Friday, Dec. 12 LGBT Night / Board member hosts events; Phiadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus performance on Community Stage.

FEE COLLECTION

A PA Ballet representative will come through daily to collect your sales. At the end of the show, you can pay your 10% of sales (before taxes) by check or credit card to PA Ballet / Nutcracker Market.

The Pennsylvania Ballet Nutcracker Market, Roberts Events, and the Kimmel Center are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen goods. Do not leave computers, cell phones, calculators or other items unattended in your booth.

You can pick up a $20/day parking voucher upon move-in; overnight parking is $30.  Operator: Parkway Corporation, 15th & Spruce Street.
