Meet Kathryn

Hometown: West Hartford, CT
Kathryn Manger began her training with the Hartt School Dance Department, formerly the School of the Hartford Ballet. In 2009, she was honored with the Francine Goldfarb Scholarship Award and was one of the top twelve finalists of the 2012 Youth America Grand Prix. She also won gold medals in the Connecticut Classic Competition for senior female in 2011 and 2012 and for the pas de deux category in 2013.

Kathryn joined Philadelphia Ballet as an apprentice for our 2015/2016 Season, was promoted to Corps de Ballet for our 2016/2017 Season, and was promoted to Soloist for our 2019/2020 Season. She has danced the principal roles of Kitri in Angel Corella’s Don Quixote, Aurora in Angel Corella’s The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, Juliet in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo & Juliet, and the Sugarplum Fairy in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. Kathryn has also performed featured roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade (Waltz Girl), Tarantella, Western Symphony (Second Movement), and Allegro Brilliante, as well as Andrea Miller’s Evenings, Matthew Neenan’s Deco, and the world premiere of Russell Ducker’s Dance Card.

Prior to Philadelphia Ballet, Kathryn danced with Milwaukee Ballet II in 2013 and Minnesota Ballet for their 2014/2015 Season. She has also performed in galas, including “Hartt’s Got Talent” in 2012 as well as the Connecticut Dance Alliance Award Ceremony in 2011 and 2012.
