Born and raised in Ventura County, California, Molly Flippen began her ballet training at the age of seven under the direction of Clarissa Boeriu.  At age 12, Ms. Flippen began to supplement her training with various summer intensive programs on scholarship at the Rock School for Dance Education, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Houston Ballet.  Ms. Flippen also trained under the late Stanley Holden.

At age 16, Ms. Flippen was accepted at the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia as a resident student under full dance scholarship. While at the Rock School, she performed various roles in the school’s production of The Nutcracker as well as various original works by instructor/choreographer Christopher Fleming.

In 2006, Ms. Flippen joined Pennsylvania Ballet II and joined Pennsylvania Ballet as an Apprentice in 2008. Since joining Pennsylvania Ballet, she has danced in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Ben Stevenson’s Dracula,Christopher Wheeldon’s Carnival of the Animals, Coppelia, Matthew Neenan’s Carmina Burana, Balanchine’s Serenade, and performed the Fall variation in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella.
